Hi,
Am looking into getting a steam mop. Lots of you seem to use and highly recommend them. I have a relatively small lino kitchen and reasonable sized hallway that is laminate. I dont want to spend a fortune as it quite a small area that i will be using it on but it will save my knees having to be down on all 4s at least once a day to scrub the floor so probably worth every penny!! .
Which would you recommend please?

Asda 25 pounds Brilliant !
I've just bought a vax steam mop from eBay for 49 rrp 99 used it once very happy so far

Which one? I can see two for £25 on their website!

didnt realise there were two ! My daughter has the white one and I have the black. I cant see any difference just thought they had changed the colour :)

I've just had a look and the handles appear different, also one is reduced from £29.99

I'm guessing you have the Abode one then.
Never having used one of these before, doesn't look like it takes much water? can it do a whole room without a refill?

It does my 20ft kitchen and the hall without a refill. The one critisam I have as do others is that I have to plug it in at two different points one for the kitchen one for the hall as the lead is short but that could be solved with an extension if you dont like moving it from socket to socket. I also ordered an extra packet of 5 micro fibre cloths so I can use one and pop it in the washing machine and always have a clean one
I think it is th eabode but as daughter has the other one and they both seem to be the same to use.

Brilliant, thank you *sold*

lol enjoy washing the floor !

LOL - I'm up for anything which makes such a lowly chore more fun!
Who says gadgets are just for blokes? (A bloke, I assume).

Me too!!
I've just ordered the one thats reduced (white one) plus the extra cloths.
Just ordered one too! Fed up of the mop and like the thought of a steamed floor surely it must be cleaner & more hygenic than using a standard mop too x
Steam can clean all washable surfaces in the whole house quicker, cheaper and more hygienically than chemicals, as well as deodorise clothes, trainers etc. The right machine can also blast stains out of carpets, sofas and uncrease washing much quicker than ironing. :)

Please be careful if you steam clean your windows as I cracked the double glazing with my steam mop accessory. I was not very popular !!!
Can I ask what sort of floors are you all using these on? On the Asda site it says;
<<< Suitable for carpet, tiles, sealed laminate, sealed wooden and sealed vinyl flooring>>>
No mention of ceramic tiles - surely you could use it though?
How do you use a steam mop on a carpet?! I would have thought the mopping action would ruin the pile? Surely better to use a vax hoover for carpet cleaning?
