Hi,
Just an update, my little Patt had the wedge sulcoplasty and tibial crest transposition repaired with pin and tension band 3 months ago. I had wonderful advice offered on here which I followed ( keeping her quiet, caged etc ) She had her 3 month check up a couple of days ago and she has been given the all clear. They are well pleased with her. She can now run free in the field, although they don't want her running with the other dogs for about another 3 months unless we can control their activity, which of course we can't, when the two little Patts get together they are off in a swirl of dust round and round the field. So she can lead walk with them or run free by herself.
At the moment she is quite happy romping in the snow by herself ( actually with my elderly cocker span. but no chance of her running like a looney, she is past that )
I am well pleased that this is almost over as it has been a nightmare trying to keep a lively manic little terrier quiet, but it was worth it in the end.
She still uses 3 legs sometimes. She uses 4 legs for walking or running, but 3 for the in-between trot speed, but the vet said that this is habit and not pain, and everything is as it should be. Once she realises the pain has gone she should start to use the leg all the time, in fact in the snow it is 4 legs all the time, I wonder if the snow doesn't jar her as much as hard ground ( just a thought)
