Hi guys anyone got a vax steam mop, I got one a couple of weeks ago however the citrus detergent stinks smells nothing like citrus and makes me feel sick very time I use it. Does anyone use any other type of detergent?

First I've heard of any type of detergent being used in a steam mop -the whole point of the steam is that you don't need anything but water as the steam disinfects. I've used Vax steam cleaners for years. Just to get a bit of extra scent I add a small bit of Mistral disinfectant to mine which is what I use to disinfect anyway, comes in a variety of scents.

I don't use anything in mine either, just sometimes spray a little dettol floor cleaner on the tiles
first.
I got a Vax steam mop recently but don't use a detergent in it. Not found it needs any help (I don't think mine is designed to put anything other than water into it), it does a lovely job just with H2O :-) Besides which I don't like 'smellies' around my dogs, for their health and my sanity - we much prefer eau de natural ;-)
Hi, yes I have a Vax 'Bare Floor Pro' steam mop with detergent, which I bought a couple of months ago.
I'm surprised you can even notice the fragrance! Mine has to be set to 'spot clean' or higher before it even begins to use any of the detergent and then of course it leaves the floor wetter too. Any lower setting and the detergent reservoir is as full when I finish cleaning as it was to begin with! The fragrance is barely noticeable.
Vax state that you must only use their detergent (or none at all). They would though, wouldn't they?
I think I am likely to use mine without any detergent in the long term.

I have a vax steamer and use no detergents. The house smells lovely after just water has been used!
