Topic Dog Boards / General / Puppy's first snow :(

Well after a little encouragement out she went quick wee and back in.  Later in the day I let her out and wasn't quite so worried, had a good look round and began to think this might be ok even fun.  She then decided to come in and had a little run in ths funny white cold stuff and slipped.  She carried on and came in quite happy till I realised there was spots of blood on the floor.  Well my first thought was she's come in to season as I'm expecting her first one anytime until I turned round and it was following her. My kitchen floor looked like a slaughter house. I realised it was coming from her foot and with a bit of help worked out it was her nail so we took a trip to the vets to find out she's pulled the nail off the nail bed. Thankfully they didn't need to take the nail off and she's bandaged for a couple of days and feeling very sorry for herself but what a shame first experience of snow :(

ahh, bless her. Poor little poppet :(

Hope she is feeling happier soon and with a bit of luck she may have learned to tread a little more carefully in the cold White stuff, so will be able to play in it next time without getting any ouchies :)

Feeling a lot less sorry for her self today lol and thinks snow s actually good fun but not taking her for a walk today just in case, I've checked her foot and it looks good but I know what it's like when you do it to your finger.

Glad she's feeling a bit happier and is enjoying the snow. :)
Yes, ripping a nail off is very painful on our fingers and she's just a baby :(
