Hi Lily,
I've already posted a request for suggestions for the best diet for my Dobermann puppy, so far no replies though ;o) Can you recomend Royal Canin? I've had a look on the website but I'd rather have a recommendation if anyone knows about it..........
Thanks

Hi Ziggy,

I had my puppy Munster on RC Maxi Junior for a while after his dam & grandam came into season and he wouldn't eat. I would recommend it, within a week he looked terrific and I carried it on for a while as he was very fussy as a youngster but would eat this readily (Along with some grated cheese!!!!).

Now he has a bottomless pit as a stomach so is on Nutro Chicken & Rice but yes, I do think RC is good. Another friend couldn't get weight on her adult Munster dog, so put him on Maxi Energy, the weight piled on him and he never looked back either.

On the Continent, it's far more widely used than here.

Our puppy was on Royal Canin when we collected her from the breeder. We had no problems with it and she seemed to be doing well on it. We only took her off it after a couple of months as we feed our other dog raw food and preferred to do the same with her.

Thanks Daisy, it's such a dilema and it's good to hear real recommendations. After all the horror stories you hear after feeding your dog something for ages.I always thought Iams was a good option but after reading peoples posts on that one! It's now on the 'Not wanted on voyage' list lol

If its any help I fed my dobermann on Wafcol for the first 6 years of her life and she always looked healthy with a really shiny coat. Its very bland but as she was an extremely greedy dog with a never ending appetite, as long as it was food she didnt care.
