Happy new year.
After getting a new rottie 4 weeks ago and back to the daily dog walking (my other 2 arm.t walked as one has severe his displacier and only walked short distances the other is deaf and blind) i am finding living in country side a beggar to my clothes on dog walks to do the distance i need for Tara. I walk out my house and the lane is a mud bath. No paths at all unlike when i used to live in town.
I need some boots. But hate wellies! And can't afford much.
Has anyone tried these below? They look perfect for me. In summer i will wear trainers and soon will be running with her but for walks i would like some good boots. Even if i have to buy a new pair a year i foot mind

Can't go too wrong at that price !

I like my short deck wellies, they were about £30, by Gil, they're about halfway up the calf so fine for most normal muddy walks. They do full length wellies too, and are much more comfortable and nice looking than normal wellies.

I tend to avoid wellys in the winter as I have found they are rubbish when it is icy. I tend to use muck boots when it isn't icy and patrol boots when it is slippy as like yourself with a rott on the end of the line it gets a bit hazardous when a pheasant takes a fly by from the field or the sheep start baaing at my boy.
I buy my patrol boots from ebay for around £25 a pair and find them great. I wear size 5 so can get kids shoes in both muck boots and patrol boots which takes the price right down.

I use my work boots as walking boots as they are well worn in. Need the height to keep trousers clean due to so much muddy water. The mud splashes end up up to knee height. X
Have a look at Sports Direct, either online or in store, as they often have some good deals :)

I'd snap those boots up Lea, HKM are a good make. Never had their boots but their clothes are very good quality.

Lea I use my normal walking boots but wear a pair of waterproof trousers over my normal ones and that works really well to keep me clean and dry.
i got these for xmas off hubby they are brilliant, i was unsure at first but boxing day i first wore them i felt clumpy in them, the next day went out for over and hours walk through fields and puddles etc, i was warm and dry love them the only thing i did buy for them was memory foam insoles due to the amount of walking i do
Have a look at this recent thread about wellies -
here. I have Aigle Parcours Vario boots which are amazingly comfortable for walking (I previously only ever wore proper walking boots).
These boots cope well with long dog walks over uneven country paths and fields which have been under water for much of the last two months!! My feet, however, are warm and dry :)
They aren't the cheapest BUT you only really have to buy them once, you can get excellent deals online or you might find them on ebay too

I would not go past my La Chamue wellie for wet or dry walks. they are so warm and comfy and although not cheap they last for years. i have just renewed and the last pair lasted about ten years.

I have La Chamue wellies too and they've lasted me years and are still looking good. I wouldn't be able to afford them, thankfully someone in my breed gave them to me as she'd got a brand new pair :)
