I need some advice from people in the know i have entered several shows next year mainly champ but also a couple of open now when i entered my puppy i obviously used her kennel club name but when i entered the first two shows i then sent off to have my affix added to the end the other shows i have booked i thought i put her as at my affix but when it came back i had put her as of instead so now all my entries are wrong i notice on the fosse data website it says theres a charge of £5 but is that for the 9 shows i have booked? obviously it would work out cheaper to send off the name request again
Thanks

I doubt very much that any competitors or the KC would make a huge fuss about it being 'at' or 'of' tbh, I don't think you need to worry, but you can always check with the KC to be sure. :-)

i would definitly check as it could mean any wins may not be awarded as the name is incorrect

Would send Fosse an e-mail telling them that for their records you have added your kennel name to your dogs names - list the dogs and list the shows involved and also go to your account and change the names there.
If they come back asking for money then say your are happy for the old name to be used for the shows already entered.
If they have not started printing the catalogue there may be no charge for the addition of the affix and I think the £5 is to discourage people from entering additional classes.
There should be no problem using the original name as that was correct at the time you entered.
thanks for the replies i did contact the kennel club who said i need to tell the show people of the change also a nice lady from birmingham national said as long as i tell them before judging starts it will be ok im in no way expecting to win but it would just be my luck that i do and i get disqualified!! i will ring fosse data when there open as none of the shows i have entered have closed enteries and see what i can do
thanks

Ah! yes, thought you were worried about the printing, tell the secretary at the show but you do not have to have it changed by the printer, the show secretary will make a note of it and it will be sent to the KC with their report on the show along with other changes and incidence so you do not need to worry even if you go Best In Show you will not have the award removed.
The secretary should write it in a book and give you a copy of what she has written, check it is correct and signed and keep in a safe place.

If I'm understanding the post, the name and affix are correct, it's just that she's put 'of' instead of 'at' (or vice versa), which I really can't believe anyone would be snitty about, though as I said it's worth having checked.
I know someone who entered their dog at a show as its pet name (they were new LOL), they just changed it with the secretary when they got to the show, no problem.
hi
yes bit of a garbled post i did yes her name is correct and affix is correct when i sent it of i was sure i put at my affix but found out it was ''of'' i put instead. i am going to ring fosse data on monday as they seem to be closed this week and see if they can change it as none of the shows have closed enteries if not will just inform the show managers on the day and hope for the best. cant believe i made such a stupid error!!!

Ditto. It didn't stop them qualifying for Crufts at their first-ever show in a good-sized class either, and there was no question of disqualifying them.

Did misread the OP but it does not matter even if you enter your dog as 'Tatty Knickers' providing you correct it at the show with the secretary there is no problem and if it is just the link word well, I never remember what it is anyway.

If you have made entries on-line you will have an on-line account and can edit your dogs there, but will have to tell the secretaries at the shows of the error before judging to avoid any charges by the printer for changing existing entries.
Future entries should be correct, but please check catalogues as it has been known for old names and mistakes to get carried over.
> I know someone who entered their dog at a show as its pet name
fOne of my puppy owners did this for LKA, pet name followed by registered name all as the name.

The one I'm thinking about was just listed under its 3-letter pet name! No registered name at all. :-)
i have changed her details on fosse data for future enteries but cant edit her name on list of shows ive booked i will ring and see what they say as well as make the shows aware before judging
thanks

Someone who has one of my pups from a litter earlier this year has done the same at two shows. I'm hoping their qualification for Crufts will still count as I didn't know until after the show. The dogs pet name is Wally LOL!
I have just spoken to one of the show managers reagrding the problem as that was the only one i sent off the paper entry i have been told that i need to see the show secretary before the judging starts and tell them they will issue me with some kind of reciept they will also give a copy to the judge to mark on his paperwork and also a copy will go to the kennels club so i wont have anything stripped should i be lucky enough to get anywhere but i have been told if i do not do this before judging starts and i do qualify for crufts or something then there is a very good chance i will get stripped of the award as i have not notified anyone. At least it saves me now chasing up all the shows to change the name.
I think many of us have done silly things when entering a dog. I entered one of my bitches into the Junior DOG class ;-) Didn't know anything about it until the steward was looking for the junior dog and I realised it was my bitch they were looking for

;-) I had to make a bad dash to the secretaries tent to get things corrected. I won't make that mistake again :-)

Think the errors we make are nothing compared with the printer errors (by the way you need to report them to the secretary as well) once turned up to a show to find my Norwegian Elkhound Junior dog was entered in Newfoundland Junior Bitch so I entered the ring with my dog to retrieve my ring number (much to the surprise of both the judge and the steward) and then reported it before I showed my dog - if the breeds had not been in the same ring I don't think I would have realised until it was too late to do anything about it.
Nova, we definately need a like button ;-) I can just imagine their faces :-)

For all you know the error could have been with the KC all along? They may have put AT in error.
Because I put FOR with my latest dog and the papers came back with AT, I phoned them straight away and TOLD them they had his name wrong and that it should be FOR, they changed it and new papers came a few days later (free aswell!)
hi
well im sure i put at not of but ive changed it with some show managers now so think ill leave it but it did cross my mind at the time because i always put at
