Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Entering Crufts

This is my second year qualifying for Crufts with my bitch, we came third last year in Special Junior, my question is: Is it frowned upon to enter more than one class, I am putting her in Post Grad Bitch which is usually the biggest class, and was wondering whether to put her into the Open Class as well?

You can enter as many classes as you wish, but in open you will have all the Champions and the very best so why not enter one of the other classes, perhaps Limit if you have no other available to you. Do you have a Graduate you could enter that and Post Grad unless you are over qualified.

There isn't a Graduate class, I wish there was!  and the Limit class is usually well attended and I know she isn't ready for that, a couple of the recent Champ Shows have seen poor entries in Open for some strange reason so it was just a thought really.

Love your user name. :) The year MY Ripley took BOB at Crufts she was entered in Limit, Veteran and Good Citizen so in 3 classes. Just gave us more rosettes. :)

My thinking is if she isnt ready for the limit class(your admission), then she isnt ready for Open....no matter how low the entries have been, plus Crufts is a different matter to other General Champ shows. I know repeat entries are free but just keep to the one class this time...who knows what next year will bring??

If she is not ready for Limit then she will be even less ready for the Open class where the dogs that win out of limit are.

Has she passed any of the Good Citizen tests, if so then that is the class I woudl put ehr in.

I have decided to enter my pup in Puppy Junior and Post Graduate, as we get so few youngsters in any year over the last few years, that the majority of our entry are in Limit Open and Veteran.

I have mine in Veteran and GC, I know she's not of the quality required to be placed at Crufts, she only qualified in an unusually small class for our breed, but perhaps there will only be 5 in GC!
