information i need for him , i do not think he can but not sure anyone know thanks

I would think that he needs to dogs KC registration paperwork from which ever country that
the dog orginates assuming that the dog is one breed that our KC recognises.

I don't think a dog's 5 generation pedigree is contained on the pet's passport.

Best wait until the KC opens to double check before he jumps in to buy the dog.

No - any dog can have a Pet Passport, even mutts and crossbreeds!

A Pet Passport is about the pet's health in terms of rabies and other cross border infectious diseases - it has absolutely nothing to do with proving pedigrees or parentage.

You need KC documents from the kennel club of the country concerned to register the dog here.

The dog will need an Export Pedigree, issued by its country of origin, in order to be KC registered here.

they do not have an export pedigree he has just phoned the lady thatbrought them into the country so he is going to leave it

Beware there's lot of dodgy dogs being imported at the moment, some even too young to enter legally. If anybody is importing only to SELL, I'd run a mile! Nobody responsible goes to the trouble of importing only to sell the dog on, we import to improve our bloodlines. Same thing as the responsible breeder breeds for themselves and the good of the breed, the irresponsible breeds to sell puppies.

depends on the country and it's relationship with the UK KC

so it was easy for Merc, from Germany, he had an export pedigree which I sent to UK KC and they then sent me his UK paperwork

with Jive, though from USA it was just as easy, I had his USA KC registration and a full pedigree from them - I filled in a form and he was put on the UK KC registration...

both were very straightforward, but you do need either the export pedigree or a country of origin KC registration and an official pedigree :-)
