Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / How Much Food ?

I have recently changed from James Wellbeloved to Arden Grange, with fantastic results (see earlier thread). I just wanted to make sure I am feeding my Beagle enough. I am currently feeding 80g 3 times a day, a total of 240g as it says on the pack for a 6 month old, 10kg dog. I used to feed nearly 400g Wellbeloved. He looks fine on it, it just doesn't look much in his bowl. Forgive my stupidity but I'm new to this.

Be guided by their feed guides, they know their foods, more concentrated. Like any food you feed your dog's condition is the best guide. Too fat, too thin, growth spurts, extra exercise that might need more food, just watch your dogs and you can see if it is correct.

feeding is a very individual thing. My dogs that weigh 20kg only get 200g or a little less of Arden Grange Adult (not the classic).

You will have to go by his condition. You should be able to see a waist when you look at him from above, and be able to easily feel th4e outline of his ribs, but not be able to see them, except the point where the waist goes in. To me the amount you give sounds a lot, but maybe that is how much a growing Beagle pup will burn off!!! :D
