Wiccaweys Rescued Border Collies

Help urgently needed - Cirencester, Gloucs area.

Please can anyone help?

We have taken a call from a housing association today. An elderly client is being rehoused in the new year into sheltered accomodation. This chap has a lovely 7 year old neutered male collie that he can no longer walk or exercise. Is there anyo
ne in the Cirencester area who has a big enough heart to help this old chap and his dog for a few weeks by giving him a walk once a day? Once the chap moves, he will have to be parted from his friend for good as dogs are not allowed. Very sad. Can anyone help them have a last Christmas together please?

Before anyone suggests them, The Cinnamon Trust have been contacted by the housing association and declined help because the old chap does not have a telephone. The association have given me permission to pass on this information as I suggested contacting the CT, and said that others would be bound to suggest the same.

If anyone can help, please contact let me know asap and I will put you in contact with the old chaps housing association case worker. Thanks for reading. xxx

Sorry not able to help as I am not in the area.
But re the phone issue, can somebody not give him a phone, most people have old ones no longer in use, and a sim card cost about £5 so if that is all that is stopping the CT from helping surely something could be sorted for the old chap.

I can't believe they are refusing to let the poor chap take his dog with him.

Alot do so why is this different ?

I could do a day during the weekend if that would help for the next three weekends but do you know what the dog is like with other dogs as I could only do it if he was ok as would have to take my crew.

I am also more than happy todo ate some money to pay for a pay as you go phone.

I have also sent the link to somebody I know lives nearer than me to see if they know anybody that could help.

Is there a local dog walking firm who could help and anyway who felt inclined could sponsor some time? I'm not local enough to help, but would be happy to donate.

Agree with Lucy and LilyMc,
Wish I were in the area but would also gladly donate to the cost of a walker, should that be able to be arranged.

Can we cross post?  I'm too far away to help but am a member of another forum that may have members closer that can help.

I would also be willing to help with the cost of a local dog walker.

This message was placed by Wiccaways on their Facebook page today:- Thank you to everyone who has contacted us to offer help to the chap and his dog. I have passed on the names and phone numbers of everyone who offered help to the housing association lady who is dealing with this situation. The dog has a rescue space with Wiccs when the time comes if still needed.

PS: Thank you for caring
