I think I know the answer but getting confused and muddled - asking another friend too.

Please can someone advise if you are awarded any points towards ShCM by gaining RBIS or BIS4 at a Single Group Open show ?  Seems a bit harsh there isn't but reading it I can't see there are - looks like BIS gets points but nothing else - I've read and reread and its not making sense!  Probably fuzzy Monday head!

You are correct, only BIS will get the points. Yes it's harsh!

Now I am confused ..LOL.
I would have thought that at single group shows ( eg Gundog show or a hound show) points would be counted as group points ie BIS ( group1) 4 points, RBIS ( group 2) 3 points, BIS 3 (group 3) 2 points and BIS 4 ( group 4) 1 point but having re read the form it does look as if only BIS gets any points.

it is also not clear to me from the form the system to calculate points from a show - do you only count the points for highest award at the show eg Group one 4 points  OR do you count BOB 1 point plus group 1 as 4 points =5 in total ???

I thought that was the case :( at Gundog shows there are far more entries overall than at general open shows so getting RBIS seemed quite a good achievement but guess not in the KC's eyes!

I then also thought I guess you just get same group points but then reread and thought its nothing!!  Seems a teeny bit unfair doesn't oh well hopefully there will be other group placings!

Yes it seems that we all agree that only BIS at single group show gets points.

Regarding other points it is always 1 pt for BOB PLUS the Group place as well.

Yes, I would have considered the points as group wins. But then if you win group can you also claim BIS. Another one of those KC rules that needs an 'ology or a phone call

Phew .. That's what I have been doing but started to wonder if I had got that wrong !!

We had a BIS 3 which didn't count. :(

There was a recent announcement re ShCM so wondered if they ahve updated.  I had always assumed a group show counted the same as a group.

Though I show at so few general or Group Open shows I have never been near gaining one yet.  I have kept track with a couple fo teh girls and I think I'm at 12 or so points with the 13 year old.
