If you handle someone's dog what are the rules regarding then exhibiting or handling under them when they judge?

I have a thought that you can't within a year, but not sure:.

So example is is A handles B dog at a show, then a few months later B judges, what would the rules be with A handling/exhibiting under them with either their own or another's dog?

The rule only applies to somebody judging a dog they have previously handled in the ring, prepared for competition or boarded.  Other way around is okay. Thank goodness, otherwise we could not show under anyone in numerically small breeds where you often have to play musical dogs. :)

at least that way they wouldn't judge the wrong end of the lead as wouldn't know who.s dog is who's :-)

Trying to work out if they are a seen dog, or where they are to stand in the challenge (though I suppose it isn't the judge but steward that can get confused) and of course you do need to be careful to check you have got the correct numbers pinned on.

My strangest swap the dog incidents have been where a Friend has taken in my other dog when I have had the fortune to win a class with both my exhibits, only for them to be pulled out the winners, and thinking well done you, and then having to realise ti was my dog :)

Also a bit of a fluster is caused when the judge needs the second in the class to the winner for the chalenge (and your already in the ring) as usually a back up handler hasn't been arranged.

Ah yes, it can and does confuse the steward but the judge may only look at the handler if they wish to ask the age or tell the handler where they want them to move to and how otherwise most will be concentrating on the dog.
