I just had the cat at the vet for his booster, and while I was there I asked for a wormer for the dog, as he's overdue and I didn't have any in stock (normally buy online). I said he's 28kg but instead of giving me a couple of smaller tablets, he gave me Plus XL and I've just double checked online, and that's for dogs 35kg and over.  Do I take it back to the vet and ask for my usual ones, or will he be ok with this one?  Don't want to poison him!  Thanks

I would take them back to the vet and get the right ones and make sure they refund you the extra too if there is a difference in price

Regular Drontal Plus is 1 tablet up to 10kg bodyweight, so you would need 3 for your dog.

As I understand it, the recommendation for the Drontal Plus XL is 1 tablet for dogs weighing between 17.5kg and 35kg. I'd be happy with the one Drontal Plus XL for the weight of your boy :-) My friend has a labradoodle who weighs around 27/28 kg and she uses one XL tablet for him.

Trialist beat me to it as I was just checking the doseage sheet.

The dosing recomendation was changed quite recently so the XL is now suitable for dogs weighing over 17.5kg.
