Can some breeds randomely have one blue eye( apart from the merles, collies, huskies etc).my friend went to view a beautiful litter and the breeder was very surprised when one pup had one blue eye and one brown eye. This is not a breed that should have blue eyes and she has never seen it before. The litter is from a show mum pups are stunning. How does this happen and would it mean the pup could be blind in that eye?

OES can have blue eyes, as can dalmatians, where it's strongly liked to hereditary deafness. It doesn't affect the vision though.

We had a dalmatian with one blue eye.  What breed was it?

Googling turns up information that says they do occasionally have a blue eye. One on this page (scroll down) has two blue eyes.

I wonder if any breed can occasionally throw a blue eye, as a mutation rather than carrying the gene for it? I knew one borzoi who had one and there is a silken with two blue eyes.

Is this not likely in any breed that is parti coloured, as in it denotes a lack of pigment in that area.

Its funny you should say that cos the pup is a parti so you are probably right.
