My st bernard is in the last week of her first season, (if she follows 21 day rule), has been slightly quieter than normal and this morning wont eat anything (unheard of), bit more sleepy than usual? pee and poo normal. Long time since I had a bitch in season, can this be normal. Am going to phone vet but just wondered, thanks

Normal fro soem fo mine.  My sadly departed Kizi would hardly eat when in season.

I think the first time the hormonal changes mess with more than just their reproductive system so she may be feeling low in mood.

Don't be surprised if it goes on for longer than 3 weeks first time around, awful if like me you have males around it seems never ending.

Moose got sick- she was puking a bit- took her to the vet cause I was all worried and was only due
to her being in heat. Now I no better when her 2nd heat comes around lol

hope ur kid gets better soon :-)
