Hi, I really need some advice please. Early this morning my 3yr old border terrier started vomiting. Perfectly ok last thing last night. Her poos are normal. She's been vomiting on and off all day. I'm so worried. I just wondered if I should take her to vet tomorrow.

my dog had a 24 hour vomiting 'bug' or something this week, to the point where she was bringing back water. I took her to the vet after 24 hours as I was worried about her dehydrating.  She stopped vomiting and is now fine. Really took it out of her though, she was a poorly girl.  Hope your little one is feeling a bit better

Don't give her any food and do not let her gulp water if she is still vomiting in the morning then take her to a vet because if nothing else you are worried.

Thanks for replies. Lisa did your vet give any treatment or did your girl recover on her own.?

We had not given her any food for 24 hours at home before going to the vet.  The vet then gave her 2 injections(an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory) and wanted to see her again the following day.  She didn't vomit again after these injections, so she did stop vomiting by herself, but her poo was sloppy.  The following day I took her back to the vet who said she still had a slight temperature but hwas rehydrated and seemed brighter.  We came home with 5 days of tablets(antibiotic/anti-inflammatory) and some canacur paste(Yakult for dogs!). I'm pleased to say her poos are now exemplary!

Thanks Lisa. My girl has got normal poos so far. My vet is open for an hour tomorrow morning so I'll take her. She's an awful scavanger, always has been, so I'm always concerned she's eaten something dangerous. Thanks for your reply.
