A friend is going to a breed champ show, she has entered her bitch into post-grad and mid-limit however she now only wants to take her into the one class. Is she allowed to withdraw her from one of the classes on the day and still go into the other class?

Not really - she can enter the first class and then if the dog is lame or upset say she can withdraw from the second class but then can not take any further part in the show. (in fact, some people will withdraw a dog simply that they do not do as well in the first class as they hoped)

Best hope is that the entry forms have not gone to the printer and that the who ever received the entry still has it and is prepared to amend it on instructions via e-mail.

I'd say just go in for both classes, ti will give her more idea how she can do against differing competition.  If the judge likes her enough she may win both classes.

I won my first CC with a Junior bitch at our breed club championship show, who I had entered in FIVE classes, all of which she had to win to challenge.  Advantage was there were far fewer dogs in the challenge.

thank you, the show is this weekend so dont think there would be time to change anything. She doesnt expect her win either class more hoping to place but she is now not happy with her coat so doesnt think there is much point in going in both classes.

If she is that unhappy then do not take her at all but she has paid and the coat will not look any different between the 2 classes so I would either leave her at home and go on my own or take her and show in both classes.

Most judges can see beyond the coat, if she's entered two classes then she should go into both, not really worth her going ifshe doesn't want to.
