Has anyone used Marilyn in Southampton recently and know how much she charges for just hips?
I think prices have increased recently?
Thanks

No, but would be interested too as I've got one to book in, but one of the gundog clubs has a vet who offers special rates to members.

I've used her recently or it feels it within the last 6 months and no major price hike!!

It used to be £120 for hips... Did you pay a similar price sue?

Hips only £50 BVA & £65 for the X-ray. I understand they have also relocated.

What??? That's a fair price hike!!! Where's Southwick in Pompey? I wish it were the one in Sussex as that's minutes from me, lol :-)
Sussex would be a lot easier for me too! Has the contact number changed as I need to book my youngster in.

Yep, if it is that price I'm better off going somewhere nearer to home as with diesel costs it works out more expensive going to Marilyn!

Have just spoken to Marilyn, am booked in for later this month, cost (for border collie) just hips is £65 + Bva fee.

Drover please can I ask what is the location though - have they moved? They were in the same place in Hampshire when I went with my boy in August.

It is southwick near portsmouth (not sussex!) I dont know the exact address as she is posting me the details.
How far in advance would you advise booking?
I will be looking to get my bitch done in about 8 weeks (midway between seasons).
Thanks

Well when I rang today she only had two slots available in November (I'm booked for the 23rd). I'd say if you can it is better to book as soon as you can then you don't get in the situation where she has no space.

Rachel looking at the map the new location is actually closer to us, not by much, but still closer :-)

I don't think the cost is the only factor with hip-scores as the positioning is so important for getting the best score you can. I would gladly pay extra to have someone experienced do it than use my own vet or someone closer.

that is good Sue :) but be a wee while before adding to the gang :(

Just found the postcode PO17 6BH if that helps.

Rabid of course I would only use an experienced vet- I have a choice of a few so naturally wanted the cheapest.
Thanks for the postcode :)
Does anyone have an up to date phone number please?
Just phoned Marilyn - 01329230052 - she doesn't book very far in advance - has 2 dates left in Nov - 23rd & 29th. Phone later in the month for dates in December.
I would like my dog's hips/elbows done in the New Year, how far in advance do I need to book?as I have to try to book a day off from work too.
> how far in advance do I need to book
Depends who you are planning to use, and it's sometimes down to the computer booking system they operate! Give them a ring and ask. At the very least you'll find out if this is a procedure they only book on certain days and times

Marilyn doesn't like her phone number posted .
