As theres a lot of pumpkin innards going to waste at my daughters,Im going to try making soup, then I remembered someone said pumpkin puree is good for curing diarrhoea-sorry to ask a silly question, but I take it youd cook it first and not puree it raw?Iplan to freeze it,and use it if mine ever get the trots. Thanks!

Good luck with your soup, I made two litres this year and it is delicious, I roast the veg first which takes longer but lovely flavour. Think I'm turning into a pumpkin as have also made several batches of pumpkin bread, pumpkin cupcakes and 3 pumpkin pies!! (Not to mention a big tub full of roasted pumpkin seeds for snacking on at work!) Got to make hay while the sun shines as pumpkins are only in the shops for such a short period and you can't buy canned pumpkin for love nor money.

I do keep some pureed and frozen for the dogs. I cut it up into roughly 4" spare pieces, get rid of the stringy stuff and seeds and steam it in the microwave on full power for 15-18 minutes then the flesh can be scooped off the skin very easily.
