Hi everyone,
I was just stocking up for our next litter. We normally use trixie 6 packs collars, but our local pet shop is out. I have tried to buy these online but they do not ship to ireland.
I was wondering what everyone else uses? we have large breed dogs and so our litters would be quite big, our last two being 11 in each. Trixie is the only collars i know of that come in so many different colours.
Anyone have any suggestions? i dont need these collars asap but i like to have everything bought and put away well out of the way.
Thanks
I just ordered from www.pupcolors.com based in Canada I think, but ship anywhere, and they literally came within a couple of days. Brilliant fast service. There are 12 in the pack, so should do you...
Bought mines from pup-id.com.Good quality and professional service.

we use the pupcolors but we change them at 6 weeks to buckle collars. we have used leather, but they break easily and get all raggy. pup id look quiet good! do you know if they come in really big sizes? thanks :)

Make sure the collars have cat safety buckles on them which will pull apart if they get caught, I have seen many advertised lately, some way too expensive and no mention of the safety buckles which is the main selling point with mine.

What do you use Rhodach?

I use grosgrain ribbon and cat safety buckles, they are more expensive than a normal 10mm side release buckle but they do pull apart under stress which is important.
Hi gabbie12 if you go on the website the contact number is there. The lady is very helpful and would possibly make them to size.
I am planning on making my own of these. I need to get my hands on some of the release buckles and slide adjusters but I did see some cat collars in packs of twos with both of these in Poundland so may just stock up there. Very easy to make up too, I'm no dab hand with sewing but managed to make up one of these quite easily. Only thing is, I will have to make at least three for each puppy to grow up into as if I make one small enough and big enough to grow with the puppy throughout the loose extra ribbon could catch a foot.
I use these:
http://www.whelpingidbands.com/ because they are made of felt and have no stringy bits. I put ribbons on mine once and a tiny piece of cord from the ribbon cut into one of my puppy's necks. Never again. These are great.
We make our own from different coloured wool using a French knitting dolly. Each collar takes just a minute to make and although buying 12 different coloured balls of wool is pricey, they last for ever. We can then make another longer set as they are needed. They stretch nicely so if a leg gets through it doesn't cause any problems and they are nice and soft and cosy for little necks. They look gorgeous on too as we tie a bow and double knot it at the back of the babies necks, so sweet! Never had any problems with them!
One new family bought their baby back for a visit at 4 months and she was still wearing it with her new collar! Most of the families keep them as a keepsake; we put a nice new one on before they come to pick them up.
