i think that is what they call them in pregnant woman, can a dog get them about 5 days before labour,
just been to a friends and had her pregnant toy girl on my lap most of the time i was there and it felt
as though her abdoman kept going hard and then softening off , passed her over to my friend as she thought
i was just saying that but once the bitch had settled on her knee and she placed her hand on her she could feel it as well , so do they get the false contractions or could this be the start of an early labour

If it's Branston, you could be in a pickle :)
And Branson would be very worrying if the dog wasn't a virgin.

If it's a toy dog and it's only 5 days before due date, it's more likely the start of true labour, toys are very often early. Hope she's got everything ready and is planning to stay up tonight!

there was no labour yet but she has her in the bedroom in the whelping box much to the bitches disgust so she is just waiting, she is still eating and playing etc with the other dogs, but gets tired very quickly i said so would you if you where that size she is huge, so tonight as she has to go out, i am on labour duty for her till she gets home .
can i ask with a toy breed how many days early can they have their pups

In my limited experience and hearing my friends with my toy breed also, they are more likely than not to be 3-6 days early, 7 or 8 is not impossible. It's almost unheard of to go the full 63 days in my breed.

My girl want to day 57 all born alive and healthy she is a toy breed.I agree LucyDoys none of friends toy dogs have gone to the full 63 days.

well better not nod off tonight then when i am on duty just in case as she is day 59 today and yesterday she was chasing one of my males and trying to mount him when we went around to see them.
Phoned my friend to see what time i am to be there for and she said she has gone quite today and is lying around more and sleep a lot today yesterday we even wondered if she was pregnant the way she was carrying on little madame she is.

Yes dogs do have Braxton Hicks painless contractions, helps get the pups lined up and moving nearer the exit, some bitches may act like they are in labour, digging etc. but they also continue to eat and behave as they normally would re exercise.
