I am looking to put in a stabledoor between my front room and kitchen, My line of thinking is it would be better and look tidier then a stair gate. Has anyone used or is using one, how do you find it and where did you buy it from

We have had one on the kitchen door for years and I wouldn't be without it. We simply took a solid wooden interior door and sawed it in half, simple as that.

I have had one between the dog room and study for a few years now and love it. We had it made to fit and is perfect for days when we are drying our dogs or when we have visitors. The dogs never feel left out.

I have one between the kitchen and conservatory, I find it so useful.
You can get them on line just google stable doors.

Funny seeing this post my hubby is preparing one to hang but its the back door to replace the old one that is all scratched.. we bought it locally but I did see them on this website thier delivery isnt charge isnt too high if I remember rightly...but worth checking as some cost near as much as the door!!!  http://www.doorsworld.co/c/Stable_Doors.htm?affiliate=adwords&gclid=CP_gpOODmrMCFSbMtAodmxUA9g

I love them and having one made as my back door for my new place :-)

Our new home has one which was the back door but is now separating the kitchen from the conservatory. It is working out really well.

I know someone who has a white upvc external stable door, 1 big window on top. It looks great, no maintenance. It was supplied by a firm in Shoreham, West Sussex.

We did exactly the same. None of the dogs (gundogs) have ever gone over it until I got a jack russell. She is tiny but still manages to scramble over so she can sneak upstairs! I couldn't believe it the first time she did it - I thought I was going mad that the v smalll dog I had just shut the other side of the door appeared in the lounge! Where there is will there is a way...
