I am considering stopping overnight to avoid a long journey on my own, but I will have four dogs with me--does anyone have any ideas for reasonably priced accommodation please?

I don't know anywhere that will let you take 4 dogs unfortunately, and I have looked for friends. If you don't mind roughing it you're very welcome to use my caravan (small 2 berth touring), it's parked in my garden and I'm 15 minutes from Ingliston :)

wow, chaumsong--that's amazing, thank you for such a kind offer! I had a feeling it might be hard to find a hotel or B&B that would put us up. Last year we drove there and back in a day. Going up was no trouble, but the drive back in poor weather was exhausting and took me about 10 hours to get home what with naps on the way, which is hard on the dogs. If you are sure you don't mind we may we take you up on this...will pm you and thank you again :-)!
