I was at ringcraft training tonight (Denton Manchester) and we were told that My Pet Stop is closing most of it's branches.
A lot of Dog Clubs hold their shows there, so it will be a real loss.

I feel so sorry for the staff at MPS as they are all animal lovers and most have been there for a number of years.

Please let any show secretaries know incase they have bookings at this venue, as it is likely to be closed by the end of the year possibly sooner, also if you have your dogs booked into the kennels.

Ah that explains it. I am entered to a Papillon breed championship show 4th of November, and the venue was meant to be My Pet Stop Leeds. I've now been told they can no longer use the venue so the club is trying to find an alternative one. What a shame.

It is, but it does seem very odd to be closing them rather than selling as going concerns.  Apparently there may be some buy out deal on the Washington/Newcastle branch, waiting to hear more.

What a shame, but I did find them to be quite expensive with their training classes etc. so did not use them.  There will be quite a lot of local clubs losing out in my area.

The services were expensive, but the kennels and the facilities are the best in the area.
As others have said on their facbook page their marketing was very bad. They had my email address, and home address, but they never ever sent  offers or details of things going on.
A lot of dog walkers I have met didn't even know about the place, nothing in vets surgeries or pet stores.
Like a lot of business's with high overheads when the usage went down they put up the prices.
I do hope that a new buyer can be found. Anybody got a few million ?

Had a look at their website and agree the classes are generally very expensive (£9 per class in most cases!) and, watching the training vids, not impressed by the techniques used either.

They didn't put up the prices they've always been very expensive in my eyes from day one!  It will be a shame though as it was a great place for going to dog shows.

Went to the Ringcraft Class tonight and it has already closed, I was told a couple of weeks ago that it was still going to be on till the end of the month.
Nothing on their website or facebook pages.
I understand from the security man that the boarding bookings are still being honoured, but not sure for how long.
Does anybody know if Hyde DCA & Stockport CS will still be holding there shows there ?

I think both Leeds and Manchester closed on Friday night.  Washington still open pending buyout apparently.

You would think that they would have put something on their website or Facebook page, to let people know. I understand that they did phone people who were on courses, but did not phone people who attend ringcraft.

Any idea where the ringcraft class has gone?  My stepdad used to go with Bella the elkhound sometimes.

According to the events manager at Manchester branch the Managing/D  for Mypetstop bought the Washington branch.

It is a shame that the branches have closed. As a secretary of an open show the committee and I liked the venue as it was fairly simple to set up for the show.

However the new venue, Wags in Worsley,  has a non slip floor and there is plenty of floor space.
Also socities will be able to do catering. That helps boost takings and it is nice to have some kind of food for the people.

It is the same cost as MyPetStop so no big shock for the clubs, thank goodness.
