Hello
I agree with Jo you will find it helpful to contact Mrs Johnson for a puppy. I would advise you check that the breeder of the puppy has had the pups sire and dam hips and eyes tested under the British Veterinary Association schemes. Hip scores currently average 9 total and eyes need to be tested for glaucoma. If anyone tells you that glaucoma is not in their line so they don't need to test DO NOT believe them! The Flatcoat Society is trying to get everyone to test their flatcoats for glaucoma regardless of the reason they bought it, as glaucoma is the most painful and blinding condition a flatcoat can get.
Where ever you buy your flatcoat from do expect to be thoroughly checked out as there are dealers who are trying to buy flatcoats to export to dealers in Japan and the far east. Flatcoat breeders do not like dealers or their agents. Sadly we never hear what becomes of our puppies which are brought fraudulently and passed from dealer to dealer.I know of a litter available at the moment, the puppies are from tested parents, do email me if you are interested in further
information. The lady with the pups will be joining the forum soon.
