Anyone any suggestions of classes in the Wigan area for basic puppy training (ie. stay, come back)
pup 17 weeks old walks ok on lead, can sit when told, gives a paw when asked and the opposite paw when asked. He is very good but wont come to you when called.

You're doing very well with him so far Russ! Have you got a copy of "The Perfect Puppy" by Gwen Bailey? It's the book I recommend to 'my' puppy buyers, as seems to be one of the best available, and seems pretty good on recall.

Edit: Ask at your vet's surgery - they should know of local dog training classes.

How odd!? You'll have to try asking at other surgeries in your area - surely one of them will be helpful.

They might not actually recommend any but ask if they know of any - or go into the surgery some time when the waiting room is quite full and ask as someone will normally know.

i wanted to find a training class for my 18month dobe in my area of enfield, but could'nt find any so i went on the web site ask.co.uk and put in training in enfield and they gave me list,so maybe u could try that
