hi people!
just been looking in dog world anual, and have read "this is our 5th line of "in tail bitches"
what does the phrase "in tail" mean?
can anyone help me?
and one more thing if no one minds are aussie shepards tails docked, or are they born without them?
thanks!

I beleive the answer to your last question is both!

Brainless is right. The majority of Aussies are docked, but a few are born with natural bob tails.

What has this to do with IW's?

because they read in an Irish Wolfhound article/advert "this is our 5th line of "in tail bitches" and they want to know what it means I presume ??

I presume the aussie question is a seperate thing.

Putting my tuppence worth in here, I don't think it is particularly to do with IW, and I wonder if it should be entail? I seem to remember reading somewhere about something being entailed though the male line, meaning inherited or passed down, this was in relation to people not dogs but I assume it could mean a line of descent through 5 generations of bitches. Of course this may be a load of rubbish in which case I apologise,
Anne

Aha, I think the penny's dropping now thanx to you girls (Anne, Sara & Grace). :)
Dictionary definition of *entail* :-
Inalienable Inheritance - Bestow (thing) as inalienable possession.

So I imagine that 5th generation of *entail* bitches means that the bitches all have a common ancestor which they are like.

I just didn't get the IW connection when the guest was talking about Aussies.
