We went to the pool yesterday and I haven't been able to unblock my ear since. There is no pain, just the sensation of being blocked and poor hearing in that side. Things I have tried -
Yawning
Pinching my nose and blowing
Cleaning my ears with cotton buds
leaning my head over and shaking
Nothing is working and it's driving me nuts. I have a party to go to this afternoon and I want to try and clear it before then. Any ideas??

If you can find a chemist open then one of the products used to clear wax should work but lay off the cotton buds, you should never put anything like that in your ear, water is trapped behind some wax and compressing it with a cotton but will make matters worse if anything.

A few drops of Olive Oil should work!

Warm olive oil may well work but watch your clothes and keep it in the ear as long as possible.

I think it's clearing a bit. Not so noisy inside my head now but still a bit dizzy(lol, where's the difference in that!!). Not perfect but getting better.
If not cleared by 2, I will try the olive oil. I use that for everything! Moisturiser, hair conditioner, dog hair conditioner/waterproofer!! And now, ear cleaner!!hehe. Think I'll move to Italy and open an olive orchard. Might be cheaper!

Nothing in your ear smaller than your elbow! Never, ever use cotton buds. Wax is actually good for your ears as long as it's not a large amount blocking it. I would also just use Olive Oil.
One thing that does work if you can't get the swim ear drops from the chemist is to put more water in yOur ear (yes really!) then when you feel that pop like its gone in tip your head the other way and it should come out. You may have to repeat but it really does work. Vinegar can work as the acetic acid dries the water or something like that but only use a few drops. Don't use cotton buds!!
