Brilliant

Although I think it's the owners that should carry the warning, why do that inside!
- By LJS Date 29.09.12 08:37 UTC
I sometimes groom inside :-)

I mostly do too, as it's rarely a quick job, and also if they re really bad I don't think the neighbours appreciate the hair storm.

I bought a blaster but seeing all that hair flying next door I felt guilty and have rarely used it ;(

The fact that one of mine also howled as if I was murdering her, and then the others joined in barking, may also have had something to do with it.

To be honest I didn't think they were too bad.... but then I have GSDs, Border Collies and shelties ;-)  far better warnings of huskies are that they chew, dig, climb and aren't reliable off lead.... they're also pack dogs, like to chase smaller dogs etc etc etc

WOW !! I thought my lot could moult ! Nothing compaired to that.

Oh my oh my, thanks be to my short haired beasts. I can hardly manage my own hair let alone all of that!!
- By furriefriends Date 29.09.12 12:06 UTC
yep looks familiar when brushing my gsd !

Actually it did not look that much to me, expect at least an elkhound size pile each when they are coating.
- By tadog [gb] Date 29.09.12 13:28 UTC
I agree, it isnt that much hair. if they were using the furninator it would take out lots, labs and a fair few other dogs can produce as much hair.
- By shivj [gb] Date 29.09.12 14:05 UTC
And that's everyday?! I used to have golden retrievers and I thought they were hairy enough lol.
- By PennyGC [gb] Date 29.09.12 14:11 UTC
when moulting some of my lot can double that..... every day... lol.... even the shelties can match them....
- By Celli [gb] Date 29.09.12 14:26 UTC
Phfft, that's nowt compared to a TM, I could have stuffed a kingsize duvet every day with Ben's fur lol.

Yep i thought it didn't look like a huge amount either lol just one of mine would produce that, the one good thing with spitz hair is it doesn't work its way into furniture and clothes like short hair fur seems too and comes off easily with a damp hand.

I think like pennyc said there is alot more things that would put me off owning a Husky than their hair :)

Spitz certainly should not moult like that every day, they shed twice a year, and the moult takes about 3 weeks from start to finish unless like this year the weather does extreme things in short space of time.

As I have 6 bitches, someone in the house is generally moulting at most times, but when I had just one or two synchronising seasons most of the year we hardly got any loose hair.

Wow, that is a lot of hair! Mind you even corgis shed an amazing amount when I've had them to groom. I'm so glad for my dogs - they may be hairy, but they don't moult like that!!
- By waggamama [gb] Date 29.09.12 17:37 UTC
Yes Corgi's somehow shed as much as a GSD!! When I've groomed a Husky I have to comb the walls, even in the rooms I haven't groomed them in. :)
