Well it's pouring down again and 48F outside (feels colder because of the wind) and about 62F indoors - Where did the summer go? It seems to have completely bypassed our area :( The growing season here is already 2 months shorter than most of UK, it's been even shorter this year :( didn't get strawberries on the plants until August - and they're early fruiting!
Keep thinking that we should put the heating on but then remember it's only September! Last year the heating didn't go on until end of November!
Global Warming - Pah!

Im glad im not the only one to feel the cold, I thought it was my age lol. We're in between cutting off the oil & connecting the gas but also need a new boiler so no form of heating except log burner but sods law the chimney needs a sweep first. I have really felt the cold recently and last Thursday I dug out my thermal t-shirt and long johns, also put the winter duvet on the bed!

Discussed only a couple of days ago that we'd not use the central heating till October but have succumbed, such a dreary cold day that have put it on to take the chill off the house. Had thought of lighting the fire but chimney needs a sweep.

Heating is on here (it's on 24/7 anyway so comes on as soon as it's cold enough) and the fire is lit :) Snug as a bug in a rug here :)

It's very cold in Manchester today

I've had to put the heating on for an hour or so this evening, for the first time, though it's far too early - we usually wait till the clocks change, but it's so cold and wet this evening nothing's drying. This morning was mild enough at 6.30 that I didn't need a coat to walk the dogs - I needed a coat indoors this afternoon!

Been using the electric blanket the last few nights, and complaining whenever the occasional moment without at least 1 Cavalier draped across my lap happens! Might dig out a jumper for work tomorrow, it's draughty in my office.

We lit the woodburner last night. It normally does not get lit untill Oct but it was very chilly. Thank goodness the wood shed if full to the brim. We have had a good year collecting and have enough for 3 winters...if it carries on like this that will be 2 winters!!

I know it's so sad, how much is it going to rain this year?????
It's really dark on a night and in the mornings now too, had our heating on for the last two days morning and evening too.
Rain, rain, go away......... had enough of you ok!
Here come the floods......

hasn't stopped here since the early hours and the roads were bad at 9.00 this morning hate to see what they are going to be like tonight!

It hasn't stopped here since yesterday lunchtime! No rain for weeks (literally just one day since the end of the Olympics) then a deluge.

We have our Central Heating thermostat set to 15'C as we don't like it warm, I was gob-smacked at 7am this morning to find the heating had come on. It is set to all day, and isn't on now. Definitely first time it's been on since Spring.
We've had a roaring fire the last few nights. Curtains are pulled tight and stews are in the slow cooker. Feels like I am preparing for winter. I have to keep reminding myself its only September :(

We had a power cut last night ( just when True Blood was coming on ! ) thank god for the stove.
The weather up here today is horrendous, even by Scottish standards, if it carries on I doubt we'll even be out for a walk, which shows how bad it is, there's not much keeps me in, but I might make an exception for today.

'Fraid to say that here in Norfolk it is a beautiful sunny day, if rather windy :) I expect that it will go downhill later :(
