Does panacur ever have any side effects when given during pregnancy.My neighbour who is also one of my closest friends is expecting her first litter in just over a week.It has been a long awaited event and so far everythng has gone to plan but since starting a low dose panacur from her vets at day 40 she has noticed her girl has slowly deflated and she is extremly worried.Late last night she came round to see me and i said i would ask her on the forum because its always full of good advice.She can still feel puppies kicking but the skinn on the tummy has gone from feeling tight and stretched to almost soft and half empty,ive noticed it too.Any advice i can give her?she is going tothe vets on monday because other than that she is in very good health.She did notice a few days ago her girl was losing some clearish mucis but her vet said that does happen at the end of pregnancy.Any advice i can pass n will be great,thanks.

I have used in on 6 generations of bitches and my litters have averaged out at 6 pups (3 - 9 live pups) per litter which is in line with the breed average, so no I have had no ill effects in pregnancy.

the main effect I have noticed is that with successive generations pups have been heavier at birth than average.  My adults are still the same as adults in size.

A bitch will seem flatter (no longer the pregnant Pygmy goat look) at the sides as the belly drops after 6 weeks.

I too was going to say that the shape can change quite drastically in the last 10 days or so, the spine and hips become more prominent making you think they have lost weight.

I too use Panacur 10% with no problems.
