Please could you give me any help on stud dogs for my labrador bitch. Im trying to find a standard poddle stud in the Lancashire area.

To be prfectly honest, I think you'd be far better off finding a suitable labrador stud for her (always assuming she's good enough to breed from and has passed all her health checks). Rescue centres are full of crossbreeds.

Why on earth would you want a Poodle as a stud dog for your Labrador? I hope not but I can only suspect money for "Designer Dogs" is the motive.

I was confused once, I seen a curly coated retriever and heard about labradoodles and thought they were the same thing, it was only after looking on CD I found out one was actually a proper breed and the other was just someones idea of a cross, maybe this person is confused to.

The Curly is one of the very old retrieving breeds although it has rather fallen from grace in the field these days. There is in fact one breeder at least who is now working them so it's possible that we will see more around in the future. I do have a person in my class who tried but gave it up as a bad job, The dog just had no aptitude for work and became a house pet. He is now working an Irish Water Spaniel which, although a Spaniel in the show ring is recognised by the KC as a retriever in the field!
