Well she had her singlton early on sat but it didnt survive, now i have my poor girl looking for her baby.
Please any help to getting her back to normal and over all the hormones she must have rushing around.
It is heart breaking as she is now carrying around a toy and guarding it, should i take this away.
She has 2 others in the house so not on her own..
I just want to help her through this,

I'm sorry. I've been through this so I know how hard it is to watch. I followed advice to LET my bitch keep her toy and treat it as a pup, as several experienced breeders told me in their experience she would give it up naturally when she was ready -and she did. I can't remember how long it took to be honest.

I was told to focus my dog on something else(same as phantoms).  I cut my girls food right back and I took to the hills with her everyday for hours.  I had taken time off to be with the pups anyway so I just used this time to spend with my girl.  Honestly, it worked a treat.  She would be out all day and then knackered at night so never really had time to dwell on it and she was soon back to her own playful self.

Thank you i was worried as she was getting all protective with it, not wanting to go out for a pee if the others looked at the toy...
She is settled up on the sofa, going out for a trip later and will try and get back into the routine with her.
Got time off so plenty of time to give her.  Must be one of the hardest things to see, even one pup is better than nothing.
Will let you know how we get on, i just want to hug her and say it will be ok...... so sad..:(

I would definitely contact all your local vets to see if a foster-mother is needed.

So sorry to hear the pup didn't make it, RIP little one.

I lost a litter last year and worked on getting her back to the normal routine with the other dogs, put her back on to normal adult food as she had been on puppy food and generally kept her busy, within a week she was back to her usual self.

I packed away the whelping box etc. so if she went into that bedroom there were no reminders.

Hopefully your girl will settle quickly too.

Thats very sad news indeed. I'm in favour of keeping her busy, plenty of exercise, run through some training routines with her. Generally keep her mind occupied and get her back into her old routine with any other dogs.

Hope she feels OK soon.

Thank you all, its been a real roller coaster,  she is getting better, last night was more relaxed.
She is very clingy but thats ok, we are keeping busy, she is seeing vet later for check up. 
Went out okay this morning i definatly think distraction is the best as she is a clever lady, so keeping her mind distracted is working.
Every day slowly we are getting better....

How sad for both of you :( But I'm so pleased she's getting brighter

We went to visit my vet yesterday she gave her some Galastop, put in food for 4 days.
They give it to phantoms and bitches that cant feed their pups etc.
She is more settled today and very much on the mend now, thank goodness.

If they will take it cucumber is good also for drying up milk. If you can mash it up and get them to even take a small amount.
