Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Could hormones be upsetting my bitches?

I'm currently waiting for my bitch to come into season, she's late, as she was her last season because it was after her litter. She's showing signs it will be soon, mostly from the other dogs sniffing her and marking where she's peed, but her daughter is very attached to her and I'm worried it's having a negative effect on her. Last night she was very unsettled and spent the entire time crying in her crate, which is very unusual. I got up and let her out several times, she peed once or twice but the rest of the time she was desperate to get to her mother (who sleeps in bed with me). She's been crate trained from a very young age and we've never had this happen before. Could the two events be connected?

Any advice and relief much appreciated.

ETA: By last night, I mean all night from 11pm till about 4am this morning.

My bitch is late as well, and all signs are there as with your bitch. They KNOW why we are waiting you know and are keeping us guessing lol.

My Inka went 8 months last time, 7 months before that and only 6 months the season she was mated (7 months most often interval) so I have no idea whether she will come in shortly (6 months) or in another month or two, though she is humping her daughter and the puppy, but I think that's more to break up their games as she is being excluded and always played with her daughter who now finds the pup more fun.

My old girl has been acting the same way and came into season last week as did her granddaughter!
