I HAVE A MASTIFF WHO OUTSIDE THE SHOW RING IS A NORMAL ACTING DOG. BUT AS SOON AS I GET IN THE SHOW RING SHE CHANGES.GOING OVER HER IS NO PROBLEM.SHE LACKS ALERTNESS, DOES NOT RUN THE RING WITH ANY ENTHUSIASM AND I CANNOT GET HER TO STAND TO ATTENTION WHEN IN THE LINE UP SO NOT GIVING A GOOD IMPRESSION TO THE JUDGE.I HAVE TRYED A COUPLE OF THINGS LIKE BAIT,CHANGING HER DIET ETC BUT NOTHING WORKS. MY OTHER DOGS ARE FINE.I THINK SHE NEEDS SOMETHING JUST BEFORE GOING INTO THE RING TO GIVE HER A BOOST.CAN ANY ONE HELP?

I know that some people do not feed the dog the night before the show, so that they are more alert for the bait. I don't know if this means not feeding the day before at all, or whether feeding in the morning instead of evening? I would imagine that a fast day would do an adult no harm, as they can have extra when they get home.
