I wasnt sure where to post this but settled on behaviour, even though the problem must be related to the fact that she is a new mum. My girl's pups are three weeks old. All is well! Pups are thriving and starting to wean. She is a brilliant mum. Today she has been showing them the way to the litter tray, within their penned off area. I do feel an amazing bond is created between owner and bitch after her giving birth and owner caring for her 24/7 and almost being able to read her mind as to what she is wanting. The same with the litter tray today. I let the front down on the whelping box and put a tray with newspapers a couple of feet away. She proceeded to jump into the whelping box and then out and into the litter tray. Pups started to follow and eventually they ended up in the litter tray, although, not yet knowing quite what to do. At this point my girl is stood next to me. We are both watching what is happening. That close bond again. I spent most of the day downstairs, busy doing stuff. Grandma chooses to stay upstairs as her daughter is still not happy about her being downstairs (Funny that she will tolerate my daughter's dog and a daily dog, but not her own mum.) This evening I took my cuppa upstairs to spend some time with grandma. Sat on the bed with gran, watching the telly. Daughter comes up to see us, which is what she normally does. Jumped on the bed but didnt settle down as she usually does. She crouched and weed in the middle of the bed!!! A huge wee too. Then she proceeded to wee on the landing before I could stop her and take her outside!! Why did she do this? Was it because I was with her mum and she was making a point?? Have now got a smelly bed and no hot water as my gas boiler packed in last night! Oh happy days!!!!
