I put some cakes on a G plan cabinet to cool down on wire racks  on top of some T towels but the inevatable happened, I now have 2 creamy rings on the posh furniture :( :( (I was doing a mass bake for the village show!!!)
I cannot afford and wont be able to for a long time to get anyone specialised in to do anythinmg with it so need some advice of the wealth of all knowledge - you lot!!!
I tried toothpaste but that didnt work.
Would ironing it work?? If so has anyone tried it???
Anyone with any suggestions??

You will think I am mad but I frequently iron a coffee table in the living room.  Years ago when it was new and I got a ring mark on it from a hot cup I asked the shop I bought it from what to do.  They said it was moisture trapped under the varnish and to use mentholated spirits to rub vigorously with a soft cloth to generate heat and it would disappear which it did.  As the years have gone by and the table isn't so 'special' any longer I have taken to using an iron on it.  Not on a steam setting, lowest heat and use a sheet of newspaper under it, gently stoke the tip of the iron over the mark and it will just disappear.  I now use the iron on the table directly as I am used to what I am doing and the heat needed.  :)

Try gently rubbing 'Brasso' on it.
