I really fancy taking one of two of my dogs on a walking trip. I don't want to spend a fortune but I'd like to leave the car at point A and walk every day to our accommodation and do some kind of circuit to end up back at the car (or train station) a few days later. I don't mind dropping gear off before we start to save us from carrying too much each day. I don't mind the odd link on a bus either and could really fancy a steam train
Does anyone know a location where this would be easy/possible or can you point me in the direction of a website? I'd like to do a recognised track/route and prefer not to yomp up a mountain or spend ages navigating fields of livestock.
I'd like to do it out of school holiday season but obviously would like the chance of dry cool walking weather - Autumn or Spring maybe
There is some sort of coastal path type thing in Cornwall which is pretty well set up accomodation wise and also for walkers, personally I would look at coastal areas rather than lots of moorland for example the lake district as it is pretty sheep heavy up there!

Fab idea! What about:
--the Dales Way (local steam railway at Embsay to Bolton Abbey)? Gorgeous walks through Wharfedale, good paths and very dog frendly apart from the sheep
--North Yorkshire Moors Challenge walk from Goathland (with its own steam railway too!), take in Robin Hoods Bay etc--lovely
But have a look yourself, there is so much to choose from:

Thank you, these are excellent links. I'm going to start properly researching soon and I want to get something planned and organised for next spring :)
We don't mind sheep, the dogs I'll take aren't livestock chasers, but I'd rather avoid fields of cows as one of my dogs has a sign on his bottom that says "Chase me". Once he's been noticed by every grumpy cow within 3 miles, he then comes and hides behind my left knee. Ta very much woof !! Gotta love him but...
There are lots of walks along the pennine way, haven't got any links but I am sure if you google it you should find information.
We stayed in the Lake District at a place called Boot, the hotel was very dog friendly and there were lots of walks from that area, also a little train just down the road, that allowed dogs and you could get on and off along the route and explore.
We got the details of the hotel from the Pets Welcome Book available in WH Smith it lists Hotels, B&B's Pubs etc. Where pets are welcome.

I live on this one, if you are ever on it and see two mad Flatties and an old Lab say hello.
It is really beautiful here at this time of year especially as all the heather is blooming.
