Hi, my friend goes herding at Jackie's with her vallhunds (they might even be on the website). We're going to organise our next herding day with her as she is more open to other breeds, apart from Border collies, herding.

Do you find it very hard to be able to do the herding side for your breed in this country?

I think what doesn't help is the lack of opportunities to practice in this country. My friend is very lucky because her local college allow her to use their sheep to practice with on a weekly basis so her dogs do many hours herding between lessons.

We used a different instructor for this years herding day, and although he is a very nice, knowledgeable guy, he really thinks the only breed suitable for herding is border collies.
