Our breed with CC's has an entry of 13, and City of Birmingham without CC's has 21.

I didn't enter, as it's an awful jopurney, rings no where near benching, and a judge I showed under with current dogs at Crufts last year.

Gosht that's awful Brainless.  COB for my breed has over 60 and we are pretty rare, don't know about Richmond will go and have a look but most shows we have in the 30's.

That is a shocker 24 entries at Birmingham for 12 classes that's 2 per class - very poor, and at Richmond there are 12 entries for 12 classes and that is one per class - we can't continue like this. Why would Richmond use a judge that close to his being the Crufts judge, there are no shortage of A list breed specialists so I really wonder why. Not that the judge is not a specialist and as far as I know well respected but I can think of many who may well have drawn a bigger entry simply because all the show hounds will have been under him recently apart from the one or two puppies.

Yes but the City is a non CC show so a good entry and I think much better than last years.

As we have so few new dogs coming through judges that hsve judged in the last two or three years are not going to get an entry from the bulk of the potential entry, unless they did quite well and hope to do a bit better.

8 for Malinois and it is a ticket show for us!! I'm not going -too far and I am making sure to not overshow the only Mali I am currently showing. Just as well I am not entered anyway as she has recently come into season.

Is this typically a nice enough show guys? Nice location and atmosphere? Thinking of going over next year as it's within easy enough driving distance to where my sister lives. 24 entries in my breed this year, very good.

I don't like the show mainly because it has an old fashioned benching to ring layout.  So haven't entered this year.

Benching tents are arranged on the perimeter, then trade stands, and rings in the centre.

This means that you are unlikely to be within spitting distance of your ring, fine if only showing one dog, but not if you have to change dogs.  Even if you have classes between, it means leaving your other dogs out of sight/earshot.

Windsor is the same so I won't enter these shows next year (unless it's a judge I really want to show under), as for several years the only shady side of the ring has been taken up by other breeds exhibitors and we have had to bake our coated breed, and or miss classes.

It's a pleasant enough venue and atmosphere, but a swine getting there as you have terrible traffic blackspots en route.
