Hello Everyone,
I was just curious if anyone knew of any non food puppy packs for breeders?
When I had my last litter, I created my own folder for each of the puppies, with information detailing their birth records, their paperwork from the vet and kennel club, dietry requirements, Etc. I also gave A sample of the food I was feeding the puppies.
I would just love to add leaflets or samples of other non food related products to my puppy packs the next time I am putting them together.
Does anyone know of Dog Toys Puppy Packs, Samples/Leaflets? Or Flea/Worm Puppy Packs, Etc?
Also What Brand/Company, Food Puppy Packs Do Ye Use For Your Litters? What Food Do Ye Find Good? I Use Royal Canin, But Am Thinking Of Changing Food For This Litter.
Thanks.

I put together quite a comprehensive information booklet for my pup owners. They don't get much in the way of 'freebies'. They get 2kg of food, sufficient to keep them going for the first week (plus a quantity of food from F4D - see comments below so actually enough for a couple of weeks), they get a blanket Mum and sibblings have slept on, a bottle of my water to cover them for the first few days, a meal made up, ready to give them when they get home and a couple of other essentials, that's it. The info booklet contains all the usual paperwork and feeding instructions, and quite a number of sheets of helpful info including training, grooming, worming, articles ... intended as a point of reference.
I think the same as Goldmali, if you really want to give away lots of goodies then collect some special things that you highly recommend. Or approach companies for freebies only if you actually use the product and can recommend it. I'm fairly sure quantity doesn't reflect quality. As a pup buyer my priority is to have a fabulously raised puppy, not lots of freebies that come with it. As a breeder, my priority is ensuring that buyers have that fabulously raised puppy. During their many communications/visits they will get lots of advice about which products I recommend, such as the Kong and Nylabones for pups. If you don't use it, don't give it out to puppy owners!
Re food. If you are going to change food brand then I'd do it well before you even mate your bitch. You need to know that she's going to be good on it ... you will need to feed it to her during latter stages of pregnancy, and if you don't, chances are she'll scoff some of the pup's food at some point, need to know it's not going to disagree.
A couple of my dogs are fed Burns, I tried Burns Mini Bites for the first time with my recent litter. Yuk! Mega runs :-( I know it suits some, it certainly didn't suit my pups. So, I returned to what I've tried and tested before, Arden Grange Puppy/Junior and Fish for Dogs Puppy (I usually just mix the two together - same feeding amounts). Both go down a treat, both produce lovely poos :-D I use the two as Fish for Dogs is considerably more expensive than AG (unless you are in the Breeder scheme), but knowing a lot of folk like the fish I give them the option. Plus they are foods I give to my adult dogs and I endorse. Fish for Dogs incidentally give a very good puppy pack - 1.5kg of their food, bagged up with booklets and puppy club card for discounted food whilst feeding the puppy food. Areden Grange send a nice puppy training booklet with a £5 or £10 discount off a bag of food.
