Your vet needs to take a blood sample to test for which allergen/s are affecting him.
What are you feeding him?
hi we feed thunder winalot in the morning and harringtons biscuits in the evening .when we first took thunder to our vets it was a locom and he did a swab which the next time we visited the vets said it was a fungal problem

When you say Winalot do you mean the plain biscuit meal or the tinned food? Which variety of Harrington's?
If it's a fungal infection then it isn't an allergy; however fungal infections can be encouraged by yeast and sugars in the diet - it's possible that a change of diet might cure the problem. A food with a minimum grain content might be beneficial. James Wellbeloved foods are supposed to be hypoallergenic and might be helpful.
hi its winalot meat in jelly. the harringtons turkey with veg biscuits .pets at home do say wellbeloved are supposed to be good.but i did wonder if they were just saying this .to get more buisness.

The Harrington's is very high in maize which
might not be helping. James Wellbeloved is a very good food and not too pricey - it might be worth a try for a few weeks (it takes at least 6 to 8 weeks for toxins to leave the system so don't expect to see miracles overnight).
If you compare the ingredients of
Harringtons turkey and vegetable to those of
James Wellbeloved turkey & vegetable you'll see what I mean.
last evening i was comparing dog foods and you are right harringtons also has added yeast which i assume will also affect his ear problems .will i be able to feed him the pouches also or just the dry as my staffie will only eat wet food and it does not seem fair for 1 to have wet and the other dry my staffie has no problems
well i have been and got thunder his james wellbeloved biscuits plus wet pouches please let this work many many thanks JeanGenie for your help i must seem thick as my head is spinning trying to make head or tail what is to help with his ear infections and his scratching i was going round in circles and getting nowere fast to say i was confused is understatment hope i have got to grips now again many thanks will keep our progress updates

Have a dog with
very yeasty ears, fortunately no problems other than smell & wax, gently wipe out every other day if not every day (especially with this humid weather) using cooled boiled water and a very small drop of hibiscrub. Also use Thornit powder which has really helped over the years to keep infections at bay. Good luck.
