My 8 month old GSD is continually barking at night. He sleeps in the kitchen & has done since we had him at 8 weeks old.Any ideas how to stop this as its driving us mad

Ask him to bake some scones :) sorry sorry just a joke Baking lol

serious now ok:)

Its separation anxiety do you spend the whole day with him? if you do he misses you.

If not where does he spend his day? if he is away from you and again at night plain and simply he misses you

Have you tried getting him a soft toy as a comfort. Seriously my friend rescued a GSD and they got her a soft toy, think it was scooby doo;) she carries it around absolutely everywhere, and sleeps with it, its her best friend. My guess too would be that your dog is missing you. Have you got an old jumper that has your 'smell' on it? you could put this in his bed.

Have you tried a Snugglepuppie. The stuffed dog with the heartbeat and something inside of it that keeps them warm at night? That may work. Shirl :D
