Just wanted to say..... HAPPY KIDS GOING BACK DAY!!!!!Yeeeeehhaaaaaaa! We've survived another summer holiday with our little 'cherubs'.

I have all mine out the door to school and have taken photos of my little nephew(P1) and have had a silent cuppa.  I'm now off a Looooong walk with my doggies, wherever I want and for as long as I want!!!Yay!

I had my Dingo at home for two days ( she goes to a kids club normally during the holidays) and I was ready to strangle her !!

I had one go back yesterday but little one doesn't start nursery until next week.  But yes, certainly looking forward to next week and the long, peaceful dog walks!

LJS, Mine didn't want to do any summer camps this year.  Apparently mum and dad are so much fun!!Eh?  But we have had an action-packed, non-stop, activity summer! I'm glad they are back so I can get my house clean and have a rest!

Yes I can remember the summer holidays being too long, as I was working nights and sleeping during the day it was hard to find somewhere for my son to go when he was younger and not able to be left to his own devices, he went to my parents during the night but didn't always want to go there during the day too. The repeated whaling of " I'm bored " and rejecting any of my suggestions.

Those days have long since gone,he is 30 now and living away from home.

Our summer holidays are nine weeks long, I love every single day of having the kids at home, I know I am a rare breed.  I am not looking forward to the new school year, dark nights, homework, school runs and lunches again :(

Yes I'm odd!

Not so rare :) I loved having my children home (well, most of the time). Now they are grown-up and I don't see so much of them, I miss those days and never regret how much time I spent with them - especially as I have plenty of time for myself now :) :)

I too loved having my children home during the holidays and we found lots of things to do that didn't cost anything other than my time :-)
