No, would not think so, the coming into season is all part of a hormonal cycle and if the bitch was not fertile then the hormones would not bring the bitch into season

Sorry Nova, but my bitch was coming in every 4 months, and not carrying pups to term, reabsorbing them every time. Apparently they don't have enough hormones to carry on with a pregnancy, even if they do get pregnant. The specialist vet told me the only way to stop this was to stop the cycle bu preventing the next season, thus giving the bitch's hormones a chance to get back into a proper routine. I elected to have my bitch spayed, so I never got a 2nd litter. :-(> No, would not think so, the coming into season is all part of a hormonal cycle and if the bitch was not fertile then the hormones would not bring the bitch into season

No problem I was talking about fertility and your bitch was fertile, carrying to term is a different matter. Loads of GSD bitches will cycle every 4 months of so and they manage to carry to term, well I know of a good number of them who have.

No problem Nova, just saying that there COULD be a hormonal problem that is stopping the OP's bitch from carrying to term. She could be getting pregnant and reabsorbing. Unless scans are done and pups are actually seen then they will never know.

I would take the bitch to a fertility specialist as they deal with this sort of thing on a regular basis, your own vets don't, so don't have the experience.
