Hi, I hope this isn't a silly question but in the absence of any information about the show anywhere - can any one go to the show or do you have to be showing a dog?

Perhaps I should add that I want to go as a spectator, mainly to drool over my dog's dad who I fell in love with last year when choosing my pup! I can only find info on exhibiting & nothing about whether or not anyone can go & watch.

Yes, you can go along to spectate :) I think there's a car parking fee, not sure if there's an entrance fee too. You'll find information on this if you look at the Higham Press website and find the schedule for the show :)

Thanks for that. I didn't want to get there & find I couldn't get in.

Car parking is £6 but there is no entrance charge.

You can also take a none entered dog as a "spectator" dog at a cost of £5 per dog. A form has to be filled in on the day and your dog must remain on lead and under control at all times :-)

Bit naughty when spectators can go in for £5.00 and walk their dogs around and exhibitors are not supposedly allowed to walk their dogs around and have to keep them benched!  I noticed that it looked as though Leeds were allowing this too and thought it unfair.

Ah but your dog gets a bench to sleep on the spectator has to make do with the ground.

Today at Bournemouth a long haired chi bitch was stolen from it's bench. The dog was removed in it's box which was found dumped and as of yet the poor little soul still hasn't been found.

My heart goes out to her owner and this put a very sad dampner on what otherwise was a good day. keeping everything crossed that she is found soon!

Was she microchipped?

They searched our cars as we left but she's so tiny it would be impossible to find her that way.

The Chi bitch is still missing.  It had been wrongly posted on Higham's webpage that she had been left at home accidentally and was not stolen.  This is incorrect and has caused a lot of upset to the owner.

I hadn't read that but did read on FB that someone brought her back???  So sad, hope they find her.  Do know someone who did go hundreds of miles to a show once and had forgotten their dog at home......  Hope she is found soon.
