I am yet again waiting for a pup for showing but going by my track record i have been waiting for something to go wrong then tonight the breeder called. She had already mated one of her girls with the stud i like( she owns him too) on day 12 and 14 then tonight she told me she got the shock of her life when she found them tied on day 23! In all her years of breeding she hadnt experienced this. The stud however wasnt meant to be in the same room apparently but she is very surprised. Now im wondering when pups would arrive, why would she still accept a male if she had already concieved.I did ask another breeder but she hadnt experienced that either.Has anyone experienced this and what was the outcome?

Some bitches will stand for the dog whether or not she is ovulating.  I believe it is quite common.  (I can't believe that I own the only trollop!)  :-)

A friend had a bitch tie 10 days after her "arranged" mating.  She still whelped to the first mating.

I agree some bitches are trollops and will "stand" throughout the season and beyond, provided it was the same stud and no risk of a mixed sire litter I wouldn't worry.

One of my bitches will also stand almost through the whole of her season.. She has been known to tie with my neutered boy on about day 4! I know better now then to leave them in the same room :)

Had a bitch mate on day 31 and resulted in pops so nope it is not shocking.  Many of my breed are late ovulators so 21 days would not be that late.

LOL and there was you hoping for pups - sorry but it made me laugh, as in late mating results in flatulence.

I posted recently about my girl still standing and 'hoping' :) that my boy her grandson.. would do the deed!!... I had to keep them apart until after day 26 before it all ended.
