I'm so pleased with our weekend. We had our two breed club back to back championship shows, with foreign breed specialist  judges. On Saturday at the Belgian Shepherd Dog Association, Reserve Dog CC went to my co-owned import Casyka's Ituha (Luta) and Reserve Bitch CC went to his daughter, bred by but not owned by me -Goldmali Flashdance. (Her 5th RCC! She also has one CC.)  On the Sunday at the Northern Belgian Shepherd Dog Club Reserve Bitch CC went to my own Goldmali Fabulous -Rona. What made it extra special was that granny of these two bitches, Ripley (Ch Sabrefield Zimply Zuper) was being shown for the very last times this weekend (graded Excellent in both shows but placed second by judges who preferred smaller bitches -she's not everyone's cup of tea) -she is now officially retired aged 12 years 3 months. It feels like she has now passed the torch (as it is the Olympics!) to Rona. Rona was initially with the MOD but was rejected by them as unsuitable -obviously they have very different criteria to what a dog should be like than us show people do (another sister is still with them however) but this meant that Rona had never been shown until May this year (she is currently 21 months old), she has been to only 4 shows so far (including this weekend) and every time has seriously been considered in the challenge until now when she got the RCC and beat existing Champions for it. It was obviously fate that she came back to us. I have to admit I was in tears, it meant that much. :)

I watched the bitch challenge and saw Rona's Res CC win - she looked lovely, a really feminine typy bitch - mega well done to you ! -it was a great weekend although my youngster behaved like a complete idiot with the judges - you know that '" oh my god that man is SCARY " stage   !! - I was amazed that he was placed 2nd in both his classes and graded Excellent as he was just SO naughty.

Thanks Yvonne -and everyone else. :) A fair few dogs were apprehensive of the judges I found, at least in Malis the teeth checking took such a long time as every single tooth was felt by both judges and a lot of dogs objected to this.

Not at Birmingham as we don't have breed classes, it's Darlington next for us -will miss WKC this year as I will be in Sweden then. Unfortunately will miss BSDA Open as well -but for a good reason, collecting my new pup then!
