I am so sorry to hear he didn't pull through, you made the brave decision to let him go.

Hamish RIP and run free from pain.

I'm so sorry for you that Hamish didn't pull through.

Sods law when you are under stress already that something like this happens but I hope you manage to stay strong.

I had a boy go down very quickly at 7 and half , the speed of the deterioration is what is so shocking... he also had severe liver failure.. with no indication . I feel for you...

I am really sorry to hear your bad news. it's a horrid time for you, but Hamish was a lucky dog to have you as an owner. I hope in time you will feel happier and able to smile at the happy memories. I lost my lovely girl 7 weeks ago - it's so hard . XXX

> the speed of the deterioration is what is so shocking... he also had severe liver failure.. with no indication

That is exactly it. Looking back I can see things that may have been an indication of liver problems, but he had various test over the last couple of years, including bloods, urine, scans and x-rays, so I'm not sure what more could have been done. As he was on long-term Previcox for his arthritis he had very regular check ups, and it was probably that that caused or exacerbated the problem. There are lots of ifs and buts, but at the end of the day my special man has gone and is now at peace.

Thank you all for your support during this awful time. xxx
